Caregiver training
Training for the person who helps someone at home: a spouse, a grown child, a neighbor or a paid aide. Ani shows you how to help someone stand, walk and use the stairs safely, and what to leave to the therapist, in the room where you help.
This care is for you if
- You help someone get up, walk or climb stairs
- You worry about hurting your own back or theirs
- You want to know what is safe to help with
- You live far away and want to follow the plan by phone
What a visit looks like
What we do
Ani teaches you in the room where you help. She shows you how to guide a stand, a step and a turn, how to cue exercises without taking over, and how to protect your own back. You practice while she watches.
What decides how many visits
What the person you help can do, what you can safely do and how the plan changes. Ani reviews it with you at each visit.
Who treats you
Ani Sarkis, a physical therapist. A family member who lives elsewhere can join the visit by phone.
Meet AniHow it is paid for
You pay Satchel directly, and you get a written estimate before your first visit. We do not bill Medicare or other plans.
How fees work
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.
Questions about this care
Does the person I help need to be there?
Yes, for most visits. The training is built around how they move, and Ani needs to see it.
Can I train even if I am not a family member?
Yes. Friends, neighbors and paid aides can learn too, with the permission of the person they help.
Can I join by phone?
A family member who lives elsewhere can listen in by phone and ask questions, with the permission of the person being helped.
Ready when you are
Book a visit at your home, or start with the free 15-minute phone call. Either way, tell Ani what you want to get back to when she arrives. We do not ask for it in the form.
