Questions, answered plainly
If yours is not here, call or send a message. Ani answers between visits.
Do I need a referral?
In Nebraska, you can start without a referral. Your plan may still ask for one, and so may your surgeon, so tell us who is involved and we will help you sort it out. If a doctor sent you, send us their instructions before the first visit.
Do you take Medicare or my plan?
We do not bill Medicare or other plans. You pay Satchel directly, and you get a written estimate before your first visit and a detailed receipt after each one.
What if I pay myself?
Everyone does. Before your first visit you get a written estimate that says what we expect each visit to cost and what it includes. If you want to send our receipt to your plan, your plan decides whether it reimburses you.
How long is a visit, and who treats me?
Your first visit is about an hour. Ani Sarkis, a physical therapist, treats you at every visit. Nobody else comes to your door.
How many visits will I need?
That depends on what Ani finds, what you want to get back to, how your body responds and what your doctor or surgeon has asked for. You talk it through at the first visit and again as you go.
What should I wear, and what should I have ready?
Clothes you can move in and the shoes you wear around the house. Have a chair, a few feet of clear floor and a clear path to any stairs you use. If you have instructions from a surgeon or doctor, have them out.
Will it hurt?
We work within what you can tolerate. Some exercises feel like effort, and you can stop or change any of them. Tell Ani what you feel, and she adjusts.
Do you offer video visits?
Satchel is a home-visit practice. Ani can do some follow-ups by video for people who are in Nebraska at the time, the state where she is licensed. Ask when you book.
Do you treat work or auto injuries?
We do not bill workers' compensation or auto insurers. If your claim requires a provider your insurer directs, you may need to see someone else first. Ask your adjuster before you book, and tell us who the adjuster is.
What should I expect at home?
Ani needs a chair, a few feet of clear floor and a clear path to any stairs you use. She brings a folding table and everything else. Family and pets are welcome, and someone can be home if you want help.
Ready when you are
Book a visit at your home, or start with the free 15-minute phone call. Either way, tell Ani what you want to get back to when she arrives. We do not ask for it in the form.
